OLIVER TWIST : Oliver Meets Mr. Brownlow

The Dodger, Charley Bates and Oliver walked along the streets. The dodger and Charley Bates saw the old gentleman looking at book, and then the dodger put his hand into the old gentleman’s pocket and drew out a fine silk handkerchief.  He gave that handkerchief to Charley. Unfortunately, someone saw what they did. Then, they run off at full speed and throw the pocket to Oliver. Oliver confused with all that he saw. Soon Oliver caught and brought to the police station because several people at the streets accused that he was thief. While Oliver caught and brought to the police station, the Dodger and Charley Bates had run back to Fagin’s. When Fagin heard about what had happened to Oliver, he was angry. Fagin was afraid that Oliver might say something to the police what they did. He and his Friends thought Oliver still at the police station and no one of them wanted to go there for any reason. The old gentleman named Mr. Brownlow came to the police station. He said to police to let Oliver go. But Oliver’s face was a deadly white, and his whole body was trembling.  Then, Mr. Brownlow brought him to his house. There, Oliver treated with more kindness because he got a high fever. After a few days, he was feeling well enough to get up. Mr. Brownlow had bought him a fine new suit, a new cap, and a sturdy pair of new shoes. Oliver asked to Mr. Brownlow to return the book to the bookseller. He was happy to be able to do something to repay Mr. Brownlow’s kindness. The man at Mr. Brownlow’s house laughing, he wagered that Oliver would never return. He thought Oliver has a new suit of clothes on his back, has a set of valuable books under his arm, and has money in his pocket, Oliver would join his old friends, the thieves. But Mr. Brownlow believed that Oliver would come back to his house.
