OLIVER TWIST : A Plain Gold Ring

Mr. Bumble married with Mrs. Corney for two months. One evening, they had different opinion and they had an argument. The fight with his wife had made him thirsty and he went to a public house. Suddenly, there was stranger told him that he gave Mr. Bumble and he asked about Oliver. He would pay if Mr. Bumble wanted to give him information about Oliver. Mr. Bumble remembered if his wife knew about the old gray-haired woman who took care of Oliver’s mother and she heard a secret from Sally shortly before Sally passed away. Then, the stranger who named Monks wrote down an address on a scrap of paper and he wanted Mr. Bumble brought his wife to him. The next night, Mr. Bumble and his wife came to the address. Mrs. Bumble started to tell story about Sally that she told Mrs. Bumble, she stole something from Oliver Twist’s dead mother. After Sally died Mrs. Bumble found a pawn ticker in her leather bag that contained a small gold locket, which held two locks of hair and a gold wedding band. Then she gave the bag to Monks, she and Mr. Bumble left quickly. A few days later, Monks went to see Fagin. Nancy happened to be at Fagin’s place on an errand for Bill Sikes. Monks frowned when he saw her, he left the room with Fagin. After that, Nancy brought him the drink, and he drank it down. Soon he was in a deep, heavy sleep. Then, she run outside and went to see Miss Maylie that staying at a family hotel. Nancy told Maylie that she was the girl that dragged little Oliver back to Fagin’s night he left Mr. Brownlow’s house and she also told her about Monks who would pay Fagin if Fagin got the boy back, he would pay more if Fagin made Oliver into a thief. After told her about Monks and Fagin’s plan, Nancy got home and she told her if Maylie want to see Nancy, she could see Nancy every Sunday night, from 11 until clock strikes 12 on London Bridge. Maylie thought that she must tell Harry what Nancy had told her. Then, she sat down to write him a letter. Oliver came into the room. He saw Mr. Brownlow get out of a coach and enter a house. He very excited. Mr. Brownlow delighted to see Oliver again and he was happy to hear that Oliver was innocent of any wrong doing from Rose.
